to do/make
I love the Internet but sometimes it’s downright overwhelming. There is so much wonderful talent out there and so many tutorials and DIY projects that my senses and yes-i-wanna-make/do-that attitude goes into overload. So that I can keep track of things to add to my never ending make/do list, I will place them here in a nice little list and cross them off as I make them. I got this idea from the lovely Karyn, owner of the Workroom, and blogger of make something {Karyn has a pretty nifty list of cool craftness}. I secretly want more than anything to own and operate a big ‘ole make something studio where people can drop in for a little arts and craft therapy and have tea. “Karyn, do you want to expand to the US?”
Okay let’s see this is going to be some random list and I am not going to organize it in anyway what so ever
1. make a sock monkey or stuff animal from
2. get a real paying gig as a photographer {at least one this year}
3. make another Japanese coin purse {gamaguchi}; I can not find the first one I made. Actaully I want to make more than one. While making the first one I learned that in order to get them made just perfect you need to get a system going so I am thinking I need to make a whole lot.
4. make something so friggin’ awesome that Antholopologie {or at least another fabulous blogger} contacts me and says “Hey Beatrice Clay we love your so and so can we feature it.”
5. start and complete my 100 photos project {still lifes}
6. crochet a lovely girly thick cotton rug for my bathroom.
7. paint my bookshelf, bedside table, and desk cubbies. (painted teh bookshelf and desk cubbies and decided to buy a bedside table so 2 out of 3 isnt bad:)
8. hem my curtains {they are way too long for my bay windows}
9. buy a nice sewing machine (Bought a nice starter machine but I am too lazy to use it)
10. make a dress for myself with my sewing machine
11. sew a bag from an acutal pattern
12. work on a collaborate photo project with someone out in blogland; something innovative, inspiring, and beautiful
13. travel to the south and go on a lovely flea market/antiquing excursion
14. road trip anywhere {just as long as the whole experience is road tripy….like a general plan of visiting several places by car, maps, mix CD playing, cooler in the back seat, lots of laughing} took 2 road trips – one to South Carolina to meet my sister for the first time ever and one to Chicago to Memee’s graduation.
15. make a huge mini granny square blanket for my bed like this one; it will certainly be a labor of love and hopefully something my great grand children will happen upon and think it’s cool.
16. make 2 medium granny square blankets for cozying up on the couch or for guest similar to my huge one but smaller in scale
17. make a giant granny square blanket for Lilly the puggle like this one but in shades of blue of course; it’s my Lilly’s favorite color – might not do this because my dog is a bad BITCH and she wrecks everything.
18. make mini granny square garland because it’s cute and looks FUN and SATISFYING! These little ones might get done first but assembling it might take forever and a day.
19. learn my way around photoshop for real and do some cool things to my photos
20. compile a book of polaroids + words and self publish it
21. laugh more, cry less (unless they are happy tears of course)
22. trust
