So I love hunting for vintage treasures and now that I live in the burbs and have a car, I can go treasure hunting whenever I want. I get this publication in the mail called the Penny Saver and it lists all the flea markets, estate sales, and tag sales taking place in my area every weekend.  A couple weeks ago I went to the Ossining Historical Society Annual antique and flea market and picked up a couple nice pieces – namely a 1930s Louis Sherry candy tin.  I still haven’t photographed a few of the pieces just yet because I haven’t decided if I want to part with any of them.  I did, however, find a lovely pair of vintage handkerchiefs (can also be used for napkins) that I just put in the shop along with a bunch of other vintage hankies I found while treasure hunting in NYC just before my big move to the burbs.  I love handkerchiefs. They are so ladylike and dainty and remind me of hot summer days in the south with grandma (the original Beatrice Clay) and her lady friends at church.  Every lady had one … oh and a little round mirror too.  I remember being a little girl and wanted something pretty to put in my little white plastic patent leather purse too.  I am grown now, and I still like having something pretty in my purse.  Now a days it’s a cute little leather coin purse I got from a recent trip to Puerto Rico.  Nonetheless it’s pretty.  What’s in your purse?
